MMM17 around the world: more from our global teams

As we reach the end of May, here are yet more inspiring examples of how MMM17 teams from around the world have been raising awareness of the risks associated with raised blood pressure…

Ghana: The Life From 30 team have been taking May Measurement Month into communities across Ghana. Oman: May Measurement Month volunteers have been hosting screening sessions in Amarat Park, Muscat, (top and bottom centre) among other locations.

Colombia: MMM17 teams across the country have carried out blood pressure screening in both rural and urban locations, including parks, health centres, and workplaces.

Switzerland: May Measurement Month volunteers Colette Fichet, Marie Jeanne Aeroundts and Margaret McSherry hosted a screening session at the International Labour Organisation medical service centre, in Geneva.

Philippines: MMM17 teams have continued blood pressure screening at sites across the country, including on the southerly island of Mindanao where martial law was enforced on 23 May. Among them (left) were staff at the Hypertension Clinic and DRCH-MMSI at Midsayap, Cotabato, on Mindanao; and (right) at the Perpetual Hospital, Las Piñas, Metro Manila, including Ronald V. Romero (seated, left), Ryan Echano (standing third from left), Anna Carmi Cuerdo (third from right), Mhel Rubia (second from right) and Mara Kiocho (right).

Sudan: Members of the Sudanese Society of Hypertension, including Young Investigators, have been involved in a very successful MMM17 blood pressure screening programme at sites nationwide. 

Portugal: May Measurement Month volunteers at the Instituto De Saúde Pública Da Universidade Do Porto have been hosting blood pressure screening sessions throughout May.

Russia: Young cardiologists from the Federal Almazov North-West Medical Research Centre in St Petersburg joined forces with members of the Russian Society of Cardiology to screen more than 100 staff and visitors to the centre.
